The PokerStars.com Americas Cup of Poker will see players from 13 countries represent their nation and compete online in the hopes of making it through to a live final to be held in Argentina.

The 13 countries — USA, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay have been split into groups, and every country will play against another from their group on a weekly basis.

The first group will start the wheels in motion from tomorrow with USA versus Ecuador, and Mexico versus a “Wildcard” country. Daily freerolls and $0.20 or $5.50 tournaments will see players from these countries attempt to score as many points as possible for their team. This will run until Aug. 2 and then a new battle will begin on Aug. 3.

When all the group matches are complete, the two countries with the most wins in each group will travel to Argentina for the ultimate battle. These eight teams, made up of PokerStars qualifiers and Team PokerStars Prom, will be playing for a $250,000 prize pool.
