Nabil Matta topped the field of 206 players at last weekend’s Lebanese Poker Championship 
in Casino du Liban in Lebanon to take down the top prize of $606,000.
The three-day no-limit hold’em event, attended by former world champion Joe Hachem, was inaugurated in 2007 and over the last two years over 22,000 have participated in qualification events, indicating the growing popularity of the game in the region.
