Padraig Parkinson Wins Irish Champions Challenge Cup

Invitational Sit ‘n’ Go Won By former World Series of Poker Main Event Finalist

Boylepoker pro and long-time Card Player Europe columnist Padraig Parkinson has won the invitational Irish Champions Challenge Cup which took place last night at the Eglinton Club in Galway.

Parkinson took down the winner take all €1,000 buy in sit ‘n’ go which featured many of the giants of Irish poker including Andy Black, Marty Smyth, Roy Brindley, and Jude Ainsworth.

The former Late Night Poker champion and World Series of Poker main event finalist beat former Grosvenor UK Poker Tour winner Martin Silke heads up but the players chopped the €10,000 prize pool, taking €4,500 each, giving the dealer €500 and playing for the remaining €500 which Parkinson won.

The final hand was saw Parkinson’s J-7 hit a straight on a 6-5-4-2-8 board and Silke’s Q-8 was overturned.
