International Poker Open Seats Selling like Hot CakesFirst 1,000 Seats for Boylepoker’s IPO Going, Going... |

Boylepoker.com has announced today that 1,000 seats in its upcoming International Poker Open are very close to the sold out point.
The Open is Europe’s largest poker tournament and has the capacity for 1,300 players, but with the first 500 seats for day 1B already taken and direct registration now closed (plus 300 out of 500 registered for day 1A), players hoping to take part better get their skates on.
Head of poker at the site, Paul Spillane, said, “We’re delighted with the response so far and the remaining seats from the first 1,000 are sure to sell out in the next week or so. We have held some seats back for online qualification and some big name VIP guests but, contrary to information on some poker forums, they may not all necessarily be allocated this way. One thing is for sure, the IPO 2009 will be even bigger and better than last year and players should register now to avoid disappointment.”
Many heads were turned recently when it was announced that there was a chance to earn more starting chips before the tournament even begins by playing on the site. Spillane explained the rationale behind this strategic move amid some mixed feedback, but with two months to go, it is clear that the event is set to be a big success with or without the new “chip” twist.
There are many ways to qualify at Boylepoker.com, even from as little as $5. At 8.30 p.m. (BST) every Monday and Wednesday, there is a $5 + $.50 satellite with one rebuy and one add-on. There will be a ticket available to the super satellite for every $27.50 in the prize pool. This $25 + $2.50 freezeout super satellite takes place every Friday at 8.30 p.m. and awards one day 1B IPO ticket for every $250 generated.
Additionally, there is a $10 + $1 satellite on Saturday at 8.30 p.m. with one rebuy and one add-on, which also sees a seat into day 1B for every $250 generated in the prize pool.
Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday are the days to play online for those interested in playing day 1A of the event. Sundays and Tuesdays at 8.30 p.m. see a $5 + $0.50 satellite with one rebuy and one add-on taking place, and this also feeds into Friday’s $25 + $2.50 super satellite. One day 1A ticket will be up for grabs for every $250 in the prize pool.
The $225 + $25 buy-in IPO kicks off at the Regency Hotel in Dublin on Oct. 16 and plays out for three days. Last year, Irishman Ruairi Coy beat the field to a first prize of €37,530 from a total prize pool of €205,000.
