They say poker is a hard way to make an easy living, and often times freerolls are an even harder way to make a buck. In some instances, huge fields must be defeated in order to come away only with the kind of money you can easily find under your couch cushions.

Not so with the CardPlayer.com monthly freeroll. Ask Skinijimi - a.k.a. Jim Coca of Fort Worth, Texas - who recently outlasted a field of 100 players in the CardPlayer.com Championship Freeroll, earning a $10,000 seat in the 2006 World Series of Poker main event, and an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles for the 2005 Card Player Player of the Year awards banquet. Coca will receive his own award at the star-studded event cohosted by Bodog.com (known for throwing the best parties in the industry, if not the world), alongside the likes of poker legend and Card Player Player of the Year Men "The Master" Nguyen.

The road to the top was paved with some stiff competition for Coca, as he battled it out over the past year with other Card Player readers in the monthly freerolls. The CardPlayer.com monthly freerolls gave away over $1,500 in cash and prizes for each event. The events averaged 350 players, with the top 50 finishers taking home a share of the prizepool.

"The Poker Authority" rewarded consistent play, as only the top 100 points earners from the 12 months of tournaments were invited to the championship event. Coca earned 200 points as Skinijimi throughout the freeroll season, good for number nine overall.

For his consistency throughout the year, and clutch play in the championship tournament, Coca is now on the ultimate freeroll, with a shot at his share of what is sure to be over a $60 million prizepool at the 2006 WSOP main event. All he had to do was sign up for a free CardPlayer.com account and play - play well that is.

The 2006 CardPlayer.com freeroll season is approaching. More money and prizes are up for grabs, starting with the first tournament on Jan. 14, 2006. Registration closes on Jan. 11.
