World Poker Tour Slovakia Main Event Begins Today

Day 1A of WPT Slovakia Main Event Kicks Off

The World Poker Tour Slovakia main event begins today and will continue for five days including two starting days.

The WPT joined the 2009 Central European Summer Poker Tournament with a €4,000 + €400 buy-in main event to be held for the first time in Central Europe.

The deepstack event is taking place in Bratislava in the Golden Vegas Casino, the largest casino in Slovakia. The festival of events including side events and preliminary tournaments began on Aug. 26 and will run until Sept.5.

Players will sit down at 12:00 p.m. (CET) with 30,000 chips, and the tournament is capped at 700, with an estimated prize pool of €2.8 million. Gus Hansen is confirmed as taking part.
