Carter KingHe’s the reigning World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event winner, but that doesn’t mean Carter “ckingusc” King is hiding any secrets to his success. In fact, King had no problem talking strategy and divulging the importance of patience in online poker.

“I think the two most common mistakes are either opening with marginal hands in early position when you are not deep enough to do so or re-shoving way too light on people in spots where they are never folding,” said King.

King expanded on the topic, bringing up specific situations and explaining why it is sometimes correct to pass up a positive EV (expected value) situation in order to reduce variance.

The young online pro joined the two hosts of The Scoop, Adam Schoenfeld and Diego Cordovez, for this week’s episode on Card Player TV. The Scoop is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker.

King also goes into detail about the infamous five-handed chop at last year’s WCOOP main event final table and the mistake that may have cost him $50,000.
