Online gaming bank Ivobank has closed to new customers according to a statement on its website.
Visitors wishing to open an account at the bank are now met with a statement which says, “Following a recent strategic review by its shareholder, Ivobank regrets to announce that with effect from Monday 7th September 2009 that it will no longer accept new retail or corporate customers.
“Ivobank wishes to assure all its customers that their balances remain safe and can be withdrawn, transferred, or spent – in full – as normal. All normal transaction facilities remain available, at present, for existing customers.”
However eGaming Review today suggested the UK Financial Services Authority have asked its founders, the Sampoerna family of Mansion online gaming fame, to increase liquidity at the bank and they have declined to do so.
It says a statement on closure is expected soon.
