Tunica's 10th Casino Will Be a GiantMyriad World Resorts Should Begin Construction in July |

Construction of the ambitious and unique Myriad Botanical Resort in Tunica, Mississippi, is scheduled to start in July as long as the Mississippi Gaming Commission renews the company's site plan proposal.
The gaming commission approved plans for the $1.5 billion resort in 2004, but the two-year window for Myriad World Resorts to begin construction closes mid-June. The company is ready to break ground in July. The site plans are essentially the same plans submitted in 2004
If the plans are renewed, the resort will be nothing like Tunica has ever seen.
On 540 acres, Myriad World Resorts plans on building a 1,200-room four-star hotel, an 80,000-square-foot casino, a 375,000-square-foot convention center, and many other attractions.
This will be surrounded by what may be the crown jewel of the resort: a 7,005-yard 18-hole golf course completely enclosed in an air-supported structure. Golfers will be able to hit the links any time they want, day or night.
A quarter of a million square feet worth of retail space will also be built as part of the first phase, as well as a 2,500-seat venue, a water park, a luxury spa, and a "snow park" that will include ice trails, ice caverns, and a skating rink.
A mile-long indoor botanical garden is also in the works, which Myriad World Resorts claims will be the largest in the world.
If approved, it will be the 10th casino to be built in Tunica since gambling was made legal there in 1990.
