Online Poker -- Patrik Antonius Wins Largest Ever Online PotIsildur1 Loses $2.7 Million Overall to Full Tilt Pro |

It seems our previous story on Isildur1 was a bit premature. The action was back up and running late Monday night on Full Tilt, only this time, Tom “durrrr” Dwan wasn’t the story.
Instead, Patrik Antonius sat down with the mysterious player from Sweden, and before the night was over, two online cash-game records were broken. The largest pot-limit Omaha pot and the largest overall pot now belong to Antonius, who was finally able to slow down the unknown and put a kink in his chain.
The hand went down during a $500-$1,000 session of heads-up pot-limit Omaha, and at $878,959, it shattered the previous record of $723,938 set by Dwan and Di “Urindanger” Dang.
Isildur1 was reported to have been up about $6 million over the last three weeks, but Antonius made a significant dent in that with a $2.7 million win last night.
Take a look at how it played out, below.
Blinds | Full Tilt Poker | $500-$1,000 |
Player | Isildur1 | Patrik Antonius |
Cash | $450,494.50 | $439,479.50 |
Hand | A K Q 10 | A Q 9 6 |
Isildur1 raised on the button to $3,000, and Antonius called. The flop came down Q 7 5, and Antonius checked to Isildur1, who continued with a $5,000 bet.
Antonius then check-raised to $21,000, and Isildur1 made the call. The turn was the A, and Antonius made a pot-sized bet of $48,000.
Isildur1 re-potted that bet, making it $192,000. Antonius then moved all in for $415,479.50, and Isildur1 made the call, having the Team Full Tilt pro covered by $11,015.
When the player’s cards were revealed, both showed aces and queens for top two pair, but their redraws made things interesting. Antonius had outs with hearts and an inside-straight draw with an 8, while Isildur1 could take it down with any non-heart king or jack.
According to the Card Player Omaha Odds Calculator, the pot would be split 62.5 percent of the time. Antonius would win it outright 25 percent of the time, and Isildur1 would come out on top 12.5 percent of the time.
One of the draws came through in the end, as the river was the 8, allowing Antonius to scoop the largest pot in online history with his 9-high straight.
