Tom DwanThe Full Tilt Durrrr Live Million Dollar Challenge got underway at Les Ambassadeurs in Mayfair, London yesterday with the titular Tom Dwan taking on Italian sports bettor Marcello “Luckexpress” Marigliano.

The players started the game with $250,000 while Durrrr upped this to $500,000 later in the game.

Despite getting the upper hand in early play Durrrr was ground back by the Italian and with around one hour left to play in the early hours of this morning the players switched from no-limit hold’em to pot-limit Omaha.

Ultimately the game petered out somewhat and few major pots were played. Marigliano ended the 500 hand session up a few thousand dollars despite both players being down over $100,000 at various stages of the game. Durrrr won 55 percent of the pots while Marigliano won 45 percent.

“In the end I won a small amount but I’m happy though as I won with bluffs,” said Marigliano. “He raised a lot pre-flop and you have to play tight but I made some good moves and I’m happy I proved I can play with Tom.”

The Challenge, being filmed by Matchroom Sport for TV, continues today against either Sammy “Any Two” George or Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies.
