The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Festival of Poker will feature a massive lineup of dozens of poker tournaments that will run from Jan. 4-14 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. On Jan. 8, there will be an opportunity for poker players to give back. PokerStars will host a $5,250 no-limit hold’em charity event to benefit amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research.

The charity tournament will donate half of the prize pool to amfAR, and that donation will be matched by PokerStars. Players are encouraged to donate their winnings in the charity event to amfAR, and all donations are 100 percent tax deductible. Many Team PokerStars pros, including reigning world champion Joe Cada, will play in the event, and they will be joined by sports stars Boris Becker and Mats Sundin. More celebrity participants will be announced soon.

PokerStars is hosting satellites for the amfAR charity event. The buy-in for the satellite is $5.50, and six prize packages, which include an entry for the charity event as well as airfare and accommodation at the Atlantis Resorts, are up for grabs. Satellites are running until Dec. 13 on PokerStars.
