Francis “Wally” McCormack has lifted the Irish Poker Rankings 2009 title after securing five first place victories and 11 other final table finishes last year.
McCormack beat off stiff competition from Dara O’Kearney and Rob Taylor to secure the title and it was his victory in the European Deepstack Championship early in the year which set the stage for his triumph.
The top five players in the rankings for last year were:
1: Francis McCormack — 18,950 points
2: Dara O’Kearney — 17,990 points
3: Rob Taylor — 11,660 points
4: Keith McFadden — 9,900 points
5: Chris Dowling — 8,600 points
