PokerTek, the creators and manufacturer of the world's first automatic computerized poker table, has entered into an agreement with an Australian company to distribute its PokerPro table around the world.

The agreement gives Aristocrat Leisure Limited exclusive rights to distribute the high-tech table to casinos and cardrooms everywhere except in the United States and some parts of Canada. PokerTek is based in North Carolina and handles distribution of its table to most of North America.

Aristocrat Leisure Limited has been in the gaming supply business for 53 years.

The table can seat 10 players and is fully automatic. There's no need for a dealer, chips, or cards. All the action is regulated by a computer and players play using a touch-screen interface.

On a screen that can be viewed only by them, players see their holecards, how much money they have in play, how much money their opponents have, and how much money's in the pot. They also control the action from this screen.

A larger screen that sits in the middle of the table is where the flop is shown. Players buy their "chips" at an electronic kiosk in the cardroom, which also automatically handles the game's waiting list.

PokerPro tables have been used to run cash games and tournaments in casinos in Florida and Oklahoma, including the Hard Rock Casinos in Tampa and Hollywood, Florida. The chain of three Winstar Casinos in Oklahoma also have the tables.
