The World Poker Tour will stage its first event in the Midwest this March at the Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg in Indiana. The $10,000 WPT no-limit hold’em championship will take place on Mar. 20-24. It will be just one of 28 evens on the schedule for the inaugural Hollywood Poker Open.
Preliminary events will spread no-limit and limit hold’em, seven-card stud, seven-card stud eight-or-better, Omaha eight-or-better, and pot-limit Omaha. There will also be no-limit hold’em events for ladies (Mar. 6) and seniors (Mar. 7 and 17). You can check out the full preliminary schedule on the tournament’s landing page.
The final table will be filmed for television broadcast on Fox Sports Net, and it begins at 4 p.m. on Mar. 24 (free seating for fans begins at 3 p.m.). The television episodes for the event will appear on consecutive Sundays (June 20 and June 27) as a part of FSN’s airing of the WPT’s season VIII schedule.
