TF1, a major commercial broadcaster in France, has signed a three-year deal with state-owned Francaise des Jeux which will see the latter provide an online poker platform for the TV company when regulation and legalisation hit France later in the year.
Francaise de Jeux recently announced it was to partner with casino operator Barrière to develop an online poker site.
TF1 also announced it was upping its stake in SPS, which operates the recently launched EurosportBET.com’s online poker site on behalf of TV channel Eurosport, from 50 percent to 100 percent.
The move signals a further development in the fusion between traditional media and online gaming which saw sports channel Setanta sign a deal with Chilipoker parent Chiligaming in recent weeks.
