Ville Wahlbeck Triumphs at Nordic Poker Awards

Ville Wahlbeck from Finland has stormed the PokerStars.com
Nordic Poker Awards in Copenhagen lifting both the Best Live Tournament Player and Best Performance of the Year awards.

Wahlbeck had six top 13 finishes at the 2009 World Series of Poker, scoring one bracelet in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event.

“It’s all a bit overwhelming actually,” said a stunned Wahlbeck. “Doing so well in the summer was incredible and getting these awards tonight is a real bonus. The World Series was pretty hard… two months non-stop. It was mentally very tough so I’m taking time out from poker for a bit although I will probably play EPT Berlin and EPT Monte Carlo.”

Best Live Tournament Player of the Year — Ville Wahlbeck (Finland)
Best Online Player of the Year — Patrik Antonius (Finland)
Rookie of the Year — Kristoffer Thorsson (Sweden)
Best Performance of the Year — Ville Wahlbeck (Finland)
