Dave “DOUBLEDAVE22” D’Alesandro recently picked up $279,044 for winning the UB Online Championship (UBOC) main event, but that may never have happened had he not won $3 in a freeroll on Bodog his freshman year in college.
The 22-year-old spent the next four years attending class and using his free time to grind that initial score into a sizeable bankroll. Now just one semester from graduation, D’Alesandro is on the fence about his choice of career.
The University of Hartford student has already earned over $630,000 in his career with a limited playing schedule, but is also considering audio engineering as his future profession.
D’Alesandro joined the Online Zone on Card Player TV this week for an interview where he discussed his start in poker, his recent success, and even a game of flip cup with his mom.
