According to German news site, The Local, the person arrested on Friday on suspicion of being involved in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Berlin raid last week was allowed to walk free the very next day.
The 29-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the armed robbery on the Grand Hyatt hotel on Potsdamer Platz had previously been in prison for attempted robbery on the casino on Alexanderplatz in 2004. It is said he also looked like one of the men who robbed the event last Sunday, judging by security camera pictures.
Without finding any evidence to link the man to the crime however, the police must now go back to the drawing board.
