Harrah's Entertainment announced it completed the sale of its Grand Casino Gulfport property in Mississippi to Gulfside Casino Partnership yesterday. The amount of the transaction wasn't released.

The Grand Casino Gulfport was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The casino used to sit on 14 acres next to Gulfside's Copa Casino, which is owned by Gulfside. The Copa also was damaged in the storm and Gulfside plans on rebuilding with a major expansion into the former Harrah's property.

Now that the sale has been approved, it will leave Harrah's with two properties in the third-largest casino market in the country, the Grand Casino in Biloxi, which it plans to rebuild. Its Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Mississippi remains open.
