Bodog.com has announced the addition of a new player to its team. After a media-driven search via social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook for a new female poker pro to represent the site, Bodog has decided on Amanda Musumeci.
Musumeci joins Evelyn Ng on Team Bodog, while recent WPT Championship winner David Williams is now no longer a Bodog pro.
The American was one of hundreds of players who applied for the sponsorship, but it was her response to the site’s Facebook appeal that outshone the rest.
Musumeci said, “When you respond to an opportunity like this, no matter how confident you are in yourself and your abilities, there’s always a little nagging doubt in the back of your mind. So when Bodog showed a genuine interest in me, I was ecstatic. I’ve spent most of my online poker career playing at Bodog.com, and getting the chance to play as a pro for my favorite room was the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Musumeci, also known as “Manderbutt” online, has built up more than $175,000 in MTT winnings, and her game has been heavily influenced by professional poker player, Anna Wroblewski. She will play at the site under the online alias, “BodogMander”.
