The Canadian province of Quebec is to launch regulated, state-run poker in the final quarter of 2010 and the software and back-end management will be provided by GTech G2, a division of Italy’s Lottomatica.
Loto-Québec president and chief executive officer Alain Cousineau said, “We will be offering Québecers a choice of entertaining games like poker, various table games and sports betting within a controlled circuit and in a secure environment whose integrity will be beyond question.”
Poker will exist on a common platform with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation but will be hosted from Montreal.
