Who is Chris Olaafson? - Poker Video Mystery on YouTube

A video posted to online site YouTube has aroused the curiosity of the poker world, well, at least those not on vacation, after it made its way onto internet forums yesterday.

The video, featuring impressively high production values, is entitled The Best Poker Player in the World? and features Daniel Negreanu, Tiffany Michelle, and Arnaud Mattern discussing poker ‘God’ Chris Olaafson as well as a mysteriously-lighted outline of Olaafson himself.

At the end viewers are cryptically informed — Are You Ready To Be Trained By God , 15:8:2010, www.chrisolafsson.com.

He also has a Facebook site and Wikipedia entry which reads, “Chris Olaafson, born 14th February 1980, is a professional poker player originally from Stockholm in Sweden, but now permanently based in Las Vegas, Nevada. In his 12 year poker career he has accumulated a multi-million dollar fortune (some say as much as $30 million US, however neither Olaafson nor any other reliable source has ever confirmed this amount to be accurate) from playing in the highest stakes poker cash games and tournaments the world over, as well as the staking and sponsorship of other players.

“He is said to be the financial and emotional backbone of many of today’s household poker celebrities and spends much of his time coaching the superstars of tomorrow at his own top-secret poker ranch named ‘ForeverLand’.
