Shulman Won The 2009 WSOPE Main EventThe fourth-annual World Series of Poker Europe will begin Tuesday, September 14 at the Casino at the Empire in London.

Five events are on the schedule, with the £2,650 six handed no-limit hold’em event kicking things off at noon BST (4 a.m. PDT). Event No. 2 will feature a £5,000 pot-limit Omaha tournament, and event No. 3 will be a £1,000 no-limit hold’em event.

In addition to these familiar tournaments, a new event has been added to this year’s schedule as the fourth preliminary event. The $10,000 no-limit hold’em high roller heads-up makes its debut September 21.

The grand finale for the 2010 WSOP Europe is the £10,000 no-limit hold’em main event (event No. 5), beginning September 23 and concluding on the 28th. Card Player will feature full live updates from the main event, including live updates, chip counts, photos, and videos from CardPlayer TV.

Last year’s main event featured 334 players and was won by Card Player publisher Barry Shulman after a grueling heads-up war with Daniel Negreanu. Shulman took home WSOP gold and the £801,603 (US $1,321,534) first-place prize.
Previous WSOP Europe main event winners include Annette Obrestad in 2007 and John Juanda in 2008.
