A win was just what Jesus needed.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson crawled out of the basement by winning his first Poker Superstars Invitational 3 match, adding 10 points to the three he brought into the contest after two matches. Before this elimination match, Ferguson was tied in second-to-the-last place with Ted Forrest. Now he's tied with Carlos Mortensen right in the middle of the pack with 13 points.

Phil Ivey finished second in this match, and believe it or not, he was the sole resident of last place before the match began. The top 16 players advance to the second round. Ivey added seven points to the two he brought into the match and will have to finish strong to advance.

Antonio Esfandiari finished third this match, adding five points to the very healthy 17 he earned his first two matches. With two more to go, Esfandiari will most definitely advance to round two. He now sits in second place with 22 points.

The man at the top of the leader board is Daniel Negreanu, who won his first two matches he played. He couldn't make it past fourth in Match 12, but still leads all the players with 23 points.

Cyndy Violette couldn't climb out of the cellar this week. She finished fifth and added only one point to the 8 she had. With nine points, she's in real danger of missing the cut.

And Greg Raymer was the first player eliminated in Match 12. He took a big hit when he was all-in against Ferguson holding a better ace (A9 against A8), but Ferguson got his 8 on the turn to take most of Raymer's chips, and eventually the match. Raymer only has five points after three matches.
