World Series of Poker Circuit Hits Hammond, Indiana

$10,000 Regional Championship Starts Oct. 25

Dan Livingston won the WSOP Circuit Hammond main event in 2009The World Series of Poker returns to the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana today for what is expected to be a record-setting visit.

Last year’s stop in Hammond featured the largest tournament field ever in a WSOP Circuit event, with nearly 1,500 players entering event No. 1. The trip to the Chicago area culminated with the $5,000 no-limit hold’em championship event, won by Dan Livingston for $291,749.

This year’s two-week schedule is even bigger. There will be 11 official gold ring tournaments played in a variety of games, including: no-limit hold’em, Omaha hi-lo, and H.O.R.S.E. The 3-day $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event begins on Oct. 22.

The two-week tournament series will wrap up with the $10,000 buy-in no limit hold’em Regional Championship from October 25-28.
