Hurricane Gustav has forced the casinos in Gulfport and Biloxi to temporarily shutter their doors, but the casinos did not suffer damage from the storm and will reopen shortly.
The Gulf Coast Poker Championship, which was supposed to hold its $5,000 championship event Thursday, has been cancelled, and there’s no word yet if the event and the remaining preliminary events will be rescheduled.
According to George P. Corchis, Jr., the president and chief operating officer of Beau Rivage, where the GCPC was taking place, the casino sustained no serious damage and officials are now on site assessing the situation.
