Venetian at NightThe Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza I began today at the Venetian Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. This will be the first of four deep stack extravaganza events that the Venetian poker room will host in 2009. Here is a look at the schedule for all four events throughout the year:

The popular tournament series will consist of 24 preliminary events. Most of them will be no-limit hold’em events (21), but there are also pot-limit Omaha, Omaha eight-or-better, and H.O.R.S.E. events featured on the agenda. The tournament series will conclude on Feb. 23 with a $2,000 no-limit hold’em tournament. Many top professionals are sure to be in attendance, and Card Player Player of the Year points will be up for grabs in every event. The starting stacks for the events are as follows: $330 no-limit hold’em — 10,000 in chips with 2,000 extra available for a $10 staff bonus; $550 and $1,070 no-limit hold’em — 12,500 in chips with 2,500 extra available for a $10 staff bonus; and $2,500 no-limit hold’em — 15,000 in chips with 5,000 extra available for a $10 staff bonus. All events begin at noon, with the exception of the non-hold’em events, which begin at 4 p.m. There will be three $275 buy-in super-satellites on Sunday, Feb. 22.
