Brian Okin Put To The Test
Jul 20, '17
Dan DiZenzo went all in for about 200,000 to put Brian Okin at risk for his tournament life. The board read 105488, and Okin needed some time to weigh his options.
However, he ended up taking so long that Ryan Laplante, who wasn’t in the hand, called the clock. The dealer called the floor staff over and they put a timer on Okin. They verbal countdown dwindled to just a couple of seconds when Okin slowly and painfully pushed his cards forward to muck them.
DiZenzo was well over 500,000 thanks to the hand.

Brian Okin was grinding a short stack for much of the later stages of the tournament and his final hand came when he moved all in for about 250,000 with 10-10 and ran into the Q-Q of Tamer Kamel. The board ran out A-K-2-2-4, giving Kamel the pot with almost no sweat and 1.4 million in chips. Okin walked over to the desk to collect his $14,000.
