Annie Duke Adds to Her Stack

Showing a board of QQ76, an opponent made a bet after receiving his river card.  Annie Duke called almost instantly showing AT54and waited for her opponent to reveal his hand.  "You're looking at it," her opponent declared, referring to his pair of queens.  Duke flipped over (A)(A)(9) for three aces and dragged the pot.

Oppenheim Cripples Rich

Jordan Rich was eliminated shortly after a back-and-forth hand against David Oppenheim:

Oppenheim completed to 1,200 and Rich raised to 2,400; Oppenheim called. Rich lead out on 4^th street with his T5 showing and Oppenheim came along. Buying an ace on 5^th street, Oppenheim lead into Rich and Rich made the call. Action went check-check on 6^th, and on 7^th street Oppenheim again led into Rich. With only 6,500 left behind Rich thought long and hard, staring into the pot of nearly 15,000, before laying down his holding. This hand was the beginning of the end for Rich, who was eliminated only a few hands later. Oppenheim now has about 28,000 chips.

7^th Street Kind to Moskowitz

David Moskowitz: J6J7

Mascio brought in with the deuce of spades and called a raised by Moskowitz, whose J was the highest upcard. 4^th street went check-check. After pairing his Jack, Moskowitz bet out and was called by Mascio. Slowing down on 6^th street, Moskowitz check-called a bet, but soon resumed his aggression by betting into Mascio on the river. Mascio made the call and Moskowitz flipped over (8)(5)(4) for the fortuitous straight made on the end. Moscowitz is now at about 53,000.

Colored Up and Ready to Roll

At the end of the last level, the $500 chips were colored up, leaving only $1,000 and $5,000 chips.  Early in the level Greg Mascio was eliminated after getting all in preflop with AQ1010.  His opponent called with the AJ54, and paired his jack on a board of JK366 to scoop the pot and eliminate Mascio.

A short stacked Ruben Vera doubled up after getting his money in on a board of AK4J with the AAK3, giving him top set and the nut flush draw. The river improved neither player and Vera scooped the pot. Players steadily dropped from the event over the hour, and at the end of the level only 24 players remained.  The three remaining tables will play down to one before the night is over.

Dinner Break

Omaha hi-lo players are now on their dinner break, and more than an hour ago the money bubble burst.  With only 41 players remaining going into the dinner break, all remaining players will make at least $4,615 for their efforts. 

Of the five remaining tables, number 78 is particularly stacked. Greg Mascio, Tony Cousineau, Ruben Vera and Bryan Devonshire are all gathered at this table and battling for the bracelet.   Tony Cousineau raised under the gun and received three callers, including Ruben Vera.  Before the flop Cousineau asked the player on the button" How did you go from $3,000 to $100,000?" He responded that he only had $68,000, and shrugged. The flop came down J108, and action checked around.  The turn brought the 2, the player in the big blind bet $6,000 and all players behind him called.  The 2 came on the river, and the player in the big blind bet again, putting Cousineau all in. He and the two other players called, and the player on the button, who was on a rush, revealed a 2 for trips, which were good for a scoop.  Cousineau was sent to the rail just shortly before the 9 p.m. dinner break.   Devonshire noted that the player on the button was on, "...a hell of a run."
