Kent Washington Eliminated
We joined this hand in progress: On a board of 66310, Kent Washington called a 8,800 chip bet from the under-the-gun player. The river brought the 10 and Washington’s opponent bet a bit less this time, throwing out 8,500 into the middle. Washington tanked before calling the bet, which was more than half his remaining stack. His opponent tabled the AA for aces and tens. Washington mucked and was down to just 7,000.
Not too long after Washington moved all in for 6,100 with the K9 and was called by a player who held the A7. Washington failed to improve and was eliminated late on Day 1B.
Jordan Morgan Doubles Up an Opponent
We caught up with the action after Morgan had already mucked and was counting out about 12,000 chips to send over to an opponent who had pocket aces exposed on the felt. Morgan was on the button and apparently doubled up his opponent who was in the small blind. Morgan is now at 20,000 in chips.

Players Remaining: 450 out of 4,345
Notable Eliminations:
Layne Flack

Layne Flack Runs Into Full House and Sent Packing
This hand happened right before the dinner break. Layne Flack held A-5 against his opponents pocket kings on an A K Q flop. Flack raised his opponents bet and got the rest of his money in when another A fell on the turn. The river bricked off for Flack and he was sent home.
Mark Seif Finds a Four
Neil Crilly raised to 900 from under-the-gun and was called by Mark Seif and the player in the small blind. The flop was J89 and after the small blind checked, Crilly bet 2,200 and was met with a raise to 6,000 from Seif. The small blind folded and Crilly shoved for only a few hundred more. Seif made the call and saw the trouble he was in.
Crilly held KK and was way ahead of Seif’s 44. The turn was the Q, but the 4 on the river gave Seif a set and sent Crilly to the rail with a bad beat story.
Seif continued his aggressive preflop play as he three-bet the very next hand and made his opponent lay his hand down. Seif is up to 25,000 in chips and seems to be very confident.
The Master Chops Pot, But Eliminates Opponent
There was some preflop action that led to a player being all in wit two callers, one of them being Men Nguyen. The flop was A98 and both Nguyen and the other player checked. The turn was the 8 and there was a bet of 1,000 which was called by Nguyen.
The river was the K and now the other player in the hand checked and Nguyen bet 3,800. The dealer announced to the other player that the bet was 2,800 and the player called. The pot was chopped as Nguyen showed AJ and the other player had AQ.
“You got lucky,” joked Nguyen. “You would have folded for 3,800.”
The other player assured him he was calling and they moved on to the next hand.
Kent Washington Eliminates a Player
Kent Washington was in the small blind with about 23,000. Action was folded to a player in the cutoff who just limped in. Washington called the additional 150 and the big blind shoved for 4,400. The cutoff quickly folded and Washington went into the tank. He eventually made the call and exposed the 44, which was racing against the A8 of the big blind. The board ran out KK1035, as the fours held up. Washington is healthy with 28,000.
Lee Markholt Doubles Up a Player
Lee Markholt (about 13,000 in chips) called a 3,000 all in from an opponent preflop. Markholt tabled the A9 and was slightly ahead of the KJ of his opponent. Markholt’s opponent turned a king and it held, leaving the poker pro with 10,000 in chips.
Interesting Chop
We caught up with the action on the river here, after an unknown player open shipped with the 98 and was called by the KK of another player. The board at the end was A-2-2-2-2 for quads, ace high. Both players chopped the pot. A player at the table remarked, “you see that once every few years.”
If you are curious about the odds of 98 chopping with pocket kings on a flop of A-2-2 (no diamonds), check out CardPlayer.com’s odds calculator. It turns out that 9-8 chops 0.71% of the time and wins 0.61% of the time.
