Lance Donnell Doubles Through Zak GilbertMar 28, '15 Lance Donnell was all-in with pocket fours and Zak Gilbert called with pocket tens. Player Tags: Zak Gilbert, Lance Donnell The Tough Turtle Finally FallsMar 29, '15 Lance Donnell was a self-described “tough turtle to kill” today. Donnell was all-in once again, but this time the result was his elimination as the 12th place finisher for $2,805. Will Miner raised to 18,000 from under the gun and Donnell moved his stack of 27,000 to the middle from under the gun+1. Will Chun called from the small blind but was rather displeased when Jesse Rockowitz moved all-in over the top from the big blind. Miner folded and action was back on Chun. “Well that’s a whole different ball game,” Chun said before tossing his cards – two nines – face up into the middle. Things got even more interesting when Rockowitz and Donnell tabled the same hand – ace-jack – and the self-proclaimed Tough Turtle looked like he was not done just yet. But Rockowitz held the A and after a flop J87 Donnell was a little nervous. The turn was the Q and the river was Donnell’s tournament ending K. Rockowitz is now up to about 405,000. Donnell has been short all day – we’ve seen him move all-in more times that we’ve counted and he is still hanging on. In his most recent all-in, down to his last 18,000, Donnell moved all-in from the cutoff and Will Chun called. Donnell showed K7 and Chun tabled Q3. Donnell doubled on a 99410A board. It should be noted Donnell also has a stack in the $230 mega-stack $10,000 guarantee playing out at the opposite end of the room. Will Miner checked from the small blind, Lance Donnell checked from the big blind, Hank Czarnecki checked from middle position and Kirstin Kane checked from the hijack. The four players checked the rest of the way as the board completed 63. “A pair of nines,” Miner said as he flipped over 98. No one else showed and Miner took the pot. Big Slick Keeps Harvey AliveMar 28, '14 On a flop of Q95, Mike Harvey moved all in for his last 12,800 and was snap-called by Lance Donnell. “You got the queen, I got to get lucky,” said Harvey as he showed AK. Donnell tabled Q10, giving him top pair and a flush draw. The turn gave Harvey more outs though as he picked up a flush draw of his own with the 6. The river was the 5, which gave Harvey a flush and the pot. Harvey doubles up to 25,300 while Donnell falls to 3,900. Player Tags: Lance Donnell, Mike Harvey Lance Donnell Rivers a Straight FlushMar 28, '14 Lance Donnell limped in from early position and action folded to Randy Gil in the small blind, who raised to 400. Ken Jorgensen folded his big blind and Donnell called. The flop was J93 and Gil continued with a bet of 600. Donnell raised to 2,250 and Gil didn’t take long before moving all in. Donnell called and showed Q10, good for an open-ended straight flush draw. Gil was ahead with his QQ, but needed to fade a lot of cards. The turn was the 5, keeping Gil in the lead, but the river was the 8, giving Donnell a straight flush and doubling up to 23,000. Gil is left with 8,300. Player Tags: Randy Gil, Lance Donnell |

Player Tags: Lance Donnell Lance Donnell Doubles UpMar 22, '13 Four players contributed 200 to a pot preflop and the first three cards ran out 643. The button bet 350 and the small blind raised to 800. The big blind called and Lance Donnell check-called from the hi-jack. The button called as well and then the turn fell 2. The big blind bet 4,000, Donnell called all in for 3,900, and everyone else got out of the way. Donnell held 105 and his opponent had 106. The river brought the 4, but it made no difference to Donnell, who had a straight on the turn. He doubled up to survive with close to 12,000. Lance Donnell – 12,000 (120 bb) Player Tags: Lance Donnell Randy Gil Wins an Early PotMar 22, '13 Lance Donnell limped preflop on the small blind and Randy Gil raised to 850. Donnell called and the flop came Q88. Gil bet 600 and Donnell check-raised an additional 1,375. Gil called and the turn fell 9. The two players each contributed 2,000 on the turn, and after a seven fell on the river, they each tossed in another 5,000. Donnell flipped over AQ for two pair, but Gil showed QQ for a flopped full house. He collected the pot and is one of the early chip leaders in the tournament.
