Founder of the World Poker Association, Jesse Jones is one strong individual. Not only has he been playing poker for more than 20 years, but he is also a three-time throat cancer survivor. After retiring from his career as a financial planner and commercial real estate investor, he has committed much of his time to the WPA. The goal of association is to create a globally recognized governing body of tournament poker. Jones says that he would like it to be similar to the PGA for golf.
A couple of Jones? poker accomplishments include a second-place finish in the 2004 Crown Australasian Poker Championship where he snagged more than $194,000, and a first-place finish in a $2,400 buy-in pot-limit Omaha event during the 2007 Aussie Millions.
