The New Yorker graduated from SUNY Albany with a bachelor’s degree, but never joined the 9-to-5 work force. A recreational poker player throughout college, he soon realized that he was making some nice money from his hobby by the time he was a senior in school.
After winning a $300 rebuy tournament at the Tropicana for $15,000 and then hitting a casino promotion jackpot for $222,000, Buchman had a healthy bankroll and hasn’t looked back since.
While primarily earning his living at cash games, he’s had a number of successful cases in both World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker events, highlighted by his final table appearance in 2009.
