Mary Jones Bio

A Las Vegas resident, Mary Jones was raised in Dallas, Texas. While growing up, she played cards with her family for fun, unaware she would someday compete professionally. But in 2005, Mary wet her feet in a prestigious World Poker Tour tournament. Up against hundreds of players, many of them top professionals, she went deep, placing 22nd. Later that year, she entered a World Series of Poker Circuit event, eventually reaching the final table. But it was the 37th Annual WSOP that cemented her status in the poker world, as Mary Jones became the Ladies Event No Limit Hold'em Champion, taking home nearly a quarter million dollars and the coveted gold bracelet. Mary will join the ranks of the elite as the winner of one of the biggest and richest women's poker tournament in history.

Nowadays, she's taking time away from a successful business career to pursue her passions, professional poker and community service.

She was recently appointed Chairwoman for The Elections and Bylaws Committee of the newly established World Poker Association, whose mission is to assure the integrity of tournament poker by establishing fair and consistent rules and procedures. But as a loyal contributor and fundraiser for the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC for almost a decade, she'll continue to devote herself to this and other causes, such as AFAN Aid for Aids Nevada.
