Khoa Nguyen Eliminated In 8th Place

On a flop of J86, Mark Koeln and Khoa Nguyen checked. Alan Mastic bet 800,000, and Koeln folded.

Nguyen called, and then shoved when the 2 hit the turn for 1,350,000. Mastic called with J10, but he was behind to Nguyen’s 86 for two pair.

The river was the J, however, and Mastic made trips to steal the pot. Nguyen was eliminated in eighth place, just before the break, taking home $16,196.

Pierce McKellar Out In 9th Place

Khoa Nguyen raised to 200,000 in the small blind and Pierce McKellar moved in from the big blind for 1,500,000.

Nguyen tanked for two minutes before making the call, and was happy to see that he was flipping with A7 against the 44 of McKellar.

The board fell J85JA and Nguyen rivered an ace to send McKellar home in ninth place.

McKellar earned $12,638 for his finish, while Nguyen chipped back up to 3,600,000.

Marquis Waters Doubles Through Khoa Nguyen

There was 2 million in the pot, and the flop read J63 when Khoa Nguyen moved all in from the big blind. That shove was more than enough to cover Marquis Waters, who check-tanked for a few minutes on the small blind. He eventually called before the two players tabled their cards.

Nipun Java Eliminated In 10th Place

Jared Jaffee raised to 160,000 and was called by Mark Koeln on the button, before Nipun Java raised all in for 1,850,000.

Khoa Nguyen went into the tank for about a minute before moving all-in over the top for 2,200,000, and Jaffee and Koeln got out of the way.

Java showed AJ, which was racing against Nguyen’s pocket tens. The board ran out 107384 and Java was eliminated in 10th place for $10,057.

Craig Mason Eliminated in 18th Place by Khoa Nguyen

There was a large pot on the table with the flop reading J74 when the big blind fired out a bet to open the action. Craig Mason raised all in for 405,000 under the gun, and Khoa Nguyen thought for a minute before calling from late position. The big blind got out of the way so the remaining two players revealed their cards.

Mason was eliminated in 18th place, good for $5,720, and Nguyen stacked up 2.53 million after collecting the pot.

Khoa Nguyen Doubles Through Bryan Devonshire

Bryan Devonshire raised to 700,000 from the cutoff and Khoa Nguyen moved all in for his last 3,860,000.

Devonshire called and showed K Q and was drawing live against Nguyen’s A 7. The board rolled out 9 4 3 10 10 and Nguyen doubled up to 8,200,000. Devonshire is now short stacked with 3,500,000.

Bryan Devonshire Eliminated in 12th Place

Eoghan O’Dea raised to 650,000 and Bryan Devonshire moved all in for 3,000,000 from the big blind. O’Dea called with A Q and he had Devonshire’s K Q dominated.

The board fell J 4 2 Q 7 and Devonshire was eliminated. O’Dea now has 39 million in chips.

Pius Heinz Doubles Up

John Hewitt raised to 650,000 from under the gun and Pius Heinz moved all in for his last 8,060,000 from the button.

The blinds folded and Hewitt called with A K. Heinz needed help with K J and got it when the board brought him a jack-high straight.

Heinze is up to 16,800,000 and Hewitt takes a major hit down to 18,100,000.

Khoa Nguyen Eliminated in 11th Place

Martin Staszko raised to 675,000 and Khoa Nguyen reraised to 1,750,000 from late position. Staszko then moved all in and Nguyen called with pocket tens.

Staszko had pocket kings, however, and they held when the board fell A 5 2 6 6. Nguyen was eliminated and the final ten players began to redraw for the unofficial final table.
