Big Hands:
Tom Dwan Eliminates Scott Hamilton
Scott Hamilton opened to 52,000 from early position. An opponent called, prompting a three-bet from Tom Dwan to 136,000. Hamilton moved all in for 740,000 total and the player in the middle folded. Dwan made the quick the call and exposed the JJ and was racing against the AQ of Hamilton. The flop was ugly for Durrrr as it came AK10, giving his opponent top pair. Dwan now needed a queen or a runner-runner full house to win. The J on the turn gave Dwan outs to chop and plenty to win the pot with a full house. The board paired with the 10 on the river and gave Dwan the 1,760,000 pot. He was the chip leader after the hand.
Alex Bolotin Eliminated in 13th Place ($27,680)
Marvin Rettenmaier bet 57,000 from middle position and Alex Bolotin moved all in for 349,000 total. Rettenmaier called and tabled the 66 and was in a coin flip against the AQ of Bolotin. The board ran out 93248 and Bolotin hit the rail. Rettenmaier was up to 1,420,000 after the hand.
Tom Dwan Takes Chips off of Nick Phillips
Tom Dwan bet 62,000 from under the gun and was called by Austin McCormick and the chip leader at the time, Nick Phillips, from the big blind. The flop came 432 and everyone checked. The 10 fell on the turn and Phillips checked to Durrrr, who bet 118,000. McCormick made the fold and Phillips called. The river brought the 2 and Phillips checked once again. This time Dwan bet 238,000 and Phillips called. Dwan tabled the A10 and Phillips mucked. Dwan was at 2,275,000 after the hand and the new chip leader, while Phillips dipped to 1,380,000.
