Ivey Starts To Climb
Phil Ivey got all in preflop against seat 4's 88. Ivey turned over AK and the race was on. But not for long, as the flop came out QJ10 giving Ivey the broadway straight. The turn and river came 39 and Ivey doubled up to over 8,300.
A few hands later, Ivey was in a big pot against the player in seat 9. On a 974 flop, Ivey checked and seat 9 bet 1,100. Ivey called and both players checked the 3 on the turn. The river brought a 3 and Ivey bet out 2,900. His opponent mucked and Ivey saw his stack increase to around 13,200.
Lovely Ladies For A Lovely Lady
Vanessa Rousso called a player's all in and showed QQ. The all in player showed A-J and the board came out 66457. The ladies held up. Unfortunately, soon after Rousso was eliminated.
Good Timing
Playing with a short stack for a while, Erik Seidel got all in preflop with his KK against his opponent's A10. The flop came 1085. The turn brought a 9 giving his opponent more outs, but the 9 on the river gave Seidel the double up to around 3,000.
Tea Pot Bent But Not Broken
Ross "brokenteapot" Stechschulte raised to 550 from middle position. A player two seats behind him immediately raised all in for 1150 more. Stechshulte reluctantly called with KJ, far behind his opponent's QQ. The board improved neither hand, but Stechshulte is still healthy with more than 7,000 in chips.
Helge Breindahl is Happy
Heige Breindahl of Denmark moved all in for 6,375 after a flop of QJ7. Josh Ronan, who had reraised a different player before the flop, considered for several minutes while Breindahl stared nervously at the felt. Finally, Ronan folded.
"I know you're happy [that I folded]," muttered Ronan. "You happy?"
"Yeah, I'm happy," agreed Breindahl, who now has about 12,000 in chips.
(Players went on twenty minute break.)
