Al Tsai raised to 1,900 from middle position and Walter Smiley called from the small blind. The two went heads-up to a flop of 1054 and Smiley checked. Tsai fired out of bet of 3,000 and Smiley decided it wasn’t worth the cards he had been dealt.

Walter Smiley won the final preliminary event of the Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park Westside Poker Championship just last night, event 6: $150 no-limit hold’em super stack turbo $10,000 guarantee for $3,230. But there is more to Smiley’s story than just being a prelim winner – Smiley is the owner of a World Series of Poker bracelet, having won the $5,000 seven-card stud event for $35,000 during the seventh annual WSOP in 1976.
Smiley’s most recent cash at the WSOP happened in 2012 when he finished 39th for $3,921 in the $1,500 seven-card stud hi-lo eight-or-better. In total, Smiley has about $350,000 in career live winnings.
