Their cards: Moneymaker: 3 – 3 Turn and River: 5 and K Moneymaker was eliminated on the hand and Carlson grew his stack to 40,000. Bard Garrett Loses One Middle position raised preflop and Brad Garrett made the call preflop. The first three cards to hit the table were A A 10 and both players checked. The turn fell Q and middle position bet 1,600. Garrett raised to 3,600 and his opponent made the call. The river fell 6 and middle position bet 5,000. Mizrachi Drops One Picking up the action on the flop, the board read A92. The player in seat 7 fired a bet and Michael Mizrachi raised it to 8,000. Two other players got out of the way and the action was back on seat 7. He instantly moved all in for 13,000 more and Mizrachi made the call. Her opponent mucked and Naujoks took down the pot. She was at 105,000. Losing Money A player moved all in preflop and Chris Moneymaker decided to put him at risk. Here were their cards: Moneymaker: AJ Moneymaker had the lead but that changed when the flop fell K88. Moneymaker lost all hope of winning the hand when the turn brought the K to give his opponent a full house. The river was the J and Moneymaker lost the hand, dropping to 57,500 in chips. How To Pull An Ace From A Hat Antonio Esfandiari moved all in for 26,500 preflop and he was called by one player. Here were their hands: Esfandiari: AK Esfandiari was racing but the flop was barren as it fell 552. The turn was a different story as the A magically appeared to give Esfandiari the lead. The river was the 8, securing the hand for Esfandiari and he doubled to 55,000. Graham’s Set Wins Him a Pot Matt Graham was heads-up on a flop of 1072. His opponent checked and he bet 3,200 and was called. The turn was the 8 and his opponent checked again. Graham bet 8,700 and his opponent check-raised to 21,000. Graham went into the tank and thought for a minute or so before making the call. The river was the A and Graham’s opponent led out for 32,000. Graham snap called and his opponent showed A2. Graham tabled 22, good for a set and he took the pot. “That’s so sick,” said Graham. “I thought he showed me aces at first.” Graham is up to 140,000. Tiffany Michelle Eliminated After a raise of 2,500 from a player in late position, Tiffany Michelle moved all-in for her last 8,700. She was called and she tabled 22 and was up against the A10 of her opponent. The board ran out A346Q, giving Michelle’s opponent a pair of aces and the pot. Michelle was eliminated late in day 2a. Roller Coaster Level for Grinder Michael Mizrachi saw his chips fluctuate quite a bit this level. We caught the action on the river with the board reading Q92Q5 and there was a bet of 16,500 into Mizrachi. Mizrachi went into the tank for a minute or two before tossing in a call. Mizrachi mucked when he saw the J10. About 10 minutes later, Mizrachi was in a big pot and with already about 50,000 in the middle on the turn, the board read QJ99. Mizrachi’s opponent moved all-in for his last 50,000 and Mizrachi made the call. “I hope he has aces or kings,” said Mizrachi as he turned up A9. His opponent turned up 1010 as the ESPN cameras ran over to catch the river card. Two other players got out of the way and the action was back on seat 7. He instantly moved all in for 13,000 more and Mizrachi made the call. How To Pull An Ace From A Hat Antonio Esfandiari moved all in for 26,500 preflop and he was called by one player. Here were their hands: Esfandiari: AK Esfandiari was racing but the flop was barren as it fell 552. The turn was a different story as the A magically appeared to give Esfandiari the lead. The river was the 8, securing the hand for Esfandiari and he doubled to 55,000. Graham’s Set Wins Him a Pot Matt Graham was heads-up on a flop of 1072. His opponent checked and he bet 3,200 and was called. The turn was the 8 and his opponent checked again. Graham bet 8,700 and his opponent check-raised to 21,000. Graham went into the tank and thought for a minute or so before making the call. The river was the A and Graham’s opponent led out for 32,000. Graham snap called and his opponent showed A2. Graham tabled 22, good for a set and he took the pot. “That’s so sick,” said Graham. “I thought he showed me aces at first.” Graham is up to 140,000. Tiffany Michelle Eliminated After a raise of 2,500 from a player in late position, Tiffany Michelle moved all-in for her last 8,700. She was called and she tabled 22 and was up against the A10 of her opponent. The board ran out A346Q, giving Michelle’s opponent a pair of aces and the pot. Michelle was eliminated late in day 2a. Roller Coaster Level for Grinder Michael Mizrachi saw his chips fluctuate quite a bit this level. We caught the action on the river with the board reading Q92Q5 and there was a bet of 16,500 into Mizrachi. Mizrachi went into the tank for a minute or two before tossing in a call. Mizrachi mucked when he saw the J10. About 10 minutes later, Mizrachi was in a big pot and with already about 50,000 in the middle on the turn, the board read QJ99. Marco Johnson raised to 3,200 preflop and Kevin Gates made the call. Another player repopped to 11,000 and Johnson four-bet to 27,000. Gates called and the other player mucked. The flop then fell Q106 and Johnson led with 52,000. Gates called and the turn was the 10. Johnson moved in for 225,000 and Gates snap-called. Johnson turned over QJ for two pair and a flush draw while Gates showed KQ for two pair with a better kicker. Johnson needed help but the river was the 9 and Johnson tumbled all the way down to 32,000 in chips while Gates took over the chip lead with 550,000. Carroll Getting Low After the flop came down A108, Michael Carroll bet 3,500 and the player in the big blind raised to 8,300. Carroll made the call and the turn was the 9. The big blind fired 12,500 and Carroll made the call. The river was the 8 and both players checked. The big blind showed A5 for top pair and Carroll mucked. He was down to 19,000 after the hand. Chan Nearing A Half Million After the board had run out J738J, Johnny Chan fired 100,000 into the pot. His opponent went into the tank as the ESPN cameras approached and he eventually made the call. Chan then turned ovver 77 for middle set on the flop and a rivered boat. His opponent mucked his and Chan took in a massive pot. He was at 495,000 after that hand. Negreanu Falls Off The Horse There was 17,000 in the pot after the board had run out 8523A and Daniel Negreanu checked to his opponent. He bet 6,000 and Negreanu made the call. His opponent then showed down AK for a rivered pair of aces and Negreanu tabled his losing KK. Negreanu dropped the pot and he was down to 41,000. Mizrachi Drops Some Chips Picking up the action after the flop had come down K63, a player fired 9,000 and Michael Mizrachi made the call. Both players saw the 9 on the turn and Mizrachi led for 11,000. His opponent moved all in for 36,000 more and Mizrachi made the call. Mizrachi turned over K5 for top pair but his opponent had him dominated as he showed KJ for the same hand with a better kicker to go along with a flush draw. Michael Mizrachi Moved In On Michael Mizrachi bet preflop from early position and got three callers. The flop came 1082 and the player in the blind led out for 3,000. The river brought the 2 and Mizrachi’s opponent moved all in for 39,900. Mizrachi tanked before finally making the fold. He was still at around 300,000 after the hand. Small Pairs Work For Savage Matt Savage raised to 3,000 from early position. He was called by a player in middle position and the big blind three-bet to 9,500. Savage made the call and they saw the flop heads-up. The flop was 652 and the big blind moved all-in for over 100,000. Savage called for his last 26,500 and tabled 33, giving him a small pair and a gutshot straight draw. He was ahead of his opponent who had tabled AQ, for just overcards. The turn was the 2 and the river was the 4 and Savage doubled up to 80,000 in chips.
