Let's All Hug

More drama and more hugs. Level 2 saw a few big named players go down, and even more hugging. It's tough to deny the strong loving feeling going on in the Amazon room right now. Win or lose, all of the ladies are having a blast.
Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh was eliminated early in the level by an opponent who had made some questionable plays. Her elimination hand is proceeded by this gem. A player in early position limps for $100, and Karen Thomas, raises to $300 in seat 1 from the cutoff. The limper makes the call and both see the K J 9 flop. It is checked to the cutoff who bets out another $300. The limper check raises all-in for $1,900 total. Thomas insta-calls $1,600 more with A Q for a gutshot and an overcard. The limper shows 9 9 for bottom set. The turn and river come Q 10 giving Thomas a straight. She is so excited that she celebrates for a full orbit before returning to the table, which sets up Jennicide's demise.
Thomas returns to the table in the cutoff once again and raises to $325. Jennicide raises to $1,000 and she makes the call. The flop comes J

and Thomas moves in. Jennicide calls all-in for her last $1,050 and shows K

. Thomas shows K
J
and is way behind. The turn and river come 5

and she hits a runner runner flush to eliminate Jennicide. However, even though the dealer is pushing her the pot, she tries to muck her hand, not knowing she has won the pot. The floor is called for a ruling, but Jennicide is not disputing anything. The floor awards Thomas the pot because "cards speak" once turned up, and she celebrates again, this time hugging the tournament director.
Erica Schoenberg also hit the rail during the level. She was all-in with A

against her opponent's Q

and Schoenberg can't dodge the mine field that is this tournament.
One player doing well against the many amateurs is Isabelle Mercier, who has chipped up nicely with Jacks and again with Kings.
Reigning WSOP Main Event Champion Jamie Gold is on the rail supporting his mother, Jane Gold who is also playing in the event.
Other notables who were eliminated include Shirley Williams, Mimi Rogers and Anna Wroblewski.
Players are on a 15-minute break.
