Several notables who played Day 1A and busted are back for more, but one notable in the field is here for the first time today.

Two-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner Jed Hoffman has taken his seat at table 3 and looking to add to his more than $465,000 in lifetime winnings.

Hoffman’s list of poker accomplishments include WSOPC wins at Harveys Lake Tahoe in October of 2013 and Choctaw in January of 2014, World Poker Tour Regional titles and final tables and most recently, a 15th place finish in the Heartland Poker Tour Grand Sierra main event.

Kuei Olson Wins With Tens

Randy Gil raised to 800 from under the gun and middle position called. Kuei Olson called from the hijack and the cutoff followed. Jed Hoffman called from the big blind and the dealer spread 954. Action checked around to Olson, who bet 1,600 and it was enough to push all those in the hand off their cards.

Olsen showed 1010 as she scooped the pot.

Ed Miller Busts Jed Hoffman

Ed Miller raised to 800 from under the gun, under the gun +1 called and so did the hijack, the cutoff, the button and the small blind. Action rested on two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Jed Hoffman, who moved all-in for about 4,300. Miller also moved all-in, for about 9,200, and action folded around to the small blind, who tanked for a few seconds before letting go of his hand.

Hoffman showed 66 and Miller showed 1010.

The board ran out K9358 and Hoffman was eliminated.

Jed Hoffman Climbs to 44,000

Two-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner Jed Hoffman is up to about 44,000 after a rivered flush in a recent hand. We missed the action, but Hoffman recounted the hand for us:

Greg Pincombe raised to 2,300 from the cutoff and Hoffman moved all-in for 24,00 from the button. Mark Lamb snap-called from the small blind and Pincombe got out of the way.

Lamb had been dealt pocket queens, while Hoffman was in possession of 86. Pincombe said he had folded ace-queen. Lamb was ahead after a flop of 8×102 but Hoffman picked up plenty of outs. Lamb was still ahead when the A opened on the turn, but Hoffman would win the pot and a double-up when the K opened up on the river.

Jed Hoffman bet 1,150 on the turn with the board reading 7634 and was check-called by his opponent. The river is the 6 and Hoffman bet 1,800 after he was checked to.

Hoffman’s opponent spent some time in the tank before calling. Hoffman showed A2 and watched the pot get pushed to his opponent, who tabled A7.

Patel flopped two pair and improved to a straight to win the pot. Kubat was eliminated in sixth place.

A Pair of Doubles

There was also two double ups to go with the pair of eliminations that took place during Level 26. In the first, Hunter Frey made a straight to survive in a pot against Patrick Kubat, which began Kubat’s downward spiral to elimination. The second saw Henry Vu double up through Blake Bohn in a hand where Vu called all in preflop with pocket aces after Bohn shoved with pocket fives.

Trish Potter Doubles Up

Jed Hoffman Wins Massive Pot

On a board reading K J 5 10, Jed Hoffman moved all in holding A Q for the nut straight.

Alan Mastic was also all in, holding J 10 for two pair and John Miner called both players holding 5 5 for a set.

The river was the 4 and Hoffman scored a knockout of Mastic while also doubling up to more than 177,000.
