William Prieto Gets Value On His Top Pair
Jan 19, '18
The player under-the-gun limped, and William “The Mexican” Prieto raised to 900. He was called by a player behind him in middle position, both blinds, and the under-the-gun limper.
The flop came down A54 and after three checks, Prieto continued to 2,100. He was called by the middle position player, and the under-the-gun limper, and dealer turned the 3.
This time when checked to, Prieto bet 3,000. He was again called in both spots, and the river was the 10. Prieto bet 5,000, and was called my the player behind him. The under-the-gun limper thought it over briefly, but ultimately folded.
“I hope you have A-J,” said Prieto, as he turned over AQ for top pair.
“That’s exactly what I have,” said his opponent, showing AJ.
Prieto dragged the pot and increased his stack to around 45,000 in chips.

Reza Yazdi Wins One After William Prieto Makes A Good Fold
Jan 20, '18
On a board reading 8547A, Alfred Giardina bet 6,000 and was quickly met with a raise to 16,000 by Reza Yazdi.
The action then fell on William Prieto, who went into the tank. Eventually, he mucked his hand, but not before showing his neighbor a six for a straight.
Giardina made the call with a six of his own, but it was no good as Yazdi showed 96 for a better straight. Yazdi is now up to 52,000 while Prieto is happy to have saved half of his stack with the right fold.
