Big Hands and Storylines:
Arash Beral (18th) and Steve Foutty (17th) Fall Quickly
Arash Beral was eliminated on the very first hand of play when his A6 ran into the pocket queens of Markus Golser, and receieved no help on the table. Steve Foutty ran into even more trouble on the second hand when Ali Eslami made a full house to send him packing.
Ice Man Doubles Up
Teddy "Iceman" Monroe doubled up early in the preceding when he moved all of his chips into the middle on a board of J1063 and Golser made the call. Golser flipped up AQ and Mornoe turned over KJ. The river hit the table 2 and Monroe survived the hand.

Vinny Vinh's Chair Fills Up
Vinny Vinh made a late arrival during the first hour of play. There was some specualtion about whether he would turn up in time or not to finish the event today, especially considering that two times last year he did not show up to a tournament and his chair made the money.
Double Elimination
Duc Nguyen got all of his chips into the midde preflop, and both Zac Fellows and Eric Pratt made the call. The flop rolled out 1052 and Pratt moved his last 8,000 into the middle in the dark as the 4 hit on the turn. Pratt turned up AQ and Fellows showed down J5. The river came 7 and Fellows eliminated Pratt and Nguyen in one fell swoop.
