Seniors Event Kicks off at Noon

The 2011 World Series of Poker no-limit hold’em seniors event kicks off at 12 p.m. local time at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Last year, 78-year-old Harold Angel topped a massive field of 3,142 to win $487,000 and the bracelet. The event, which is for those 50 years of age and up, should see another huge turn out this year.

Harold Angle limped on the button and after Michael Minetti folded his small blind, John Woo checked his option.

The flop came 4710 and Woo moved all-in for 300,000 and was called by Angle. Woo showed 94 and was ahead of Angle’s A2.

The 3 on the turn meant that Angle filled his flush and the 4 on the river was just a mere formality and Woo was eliminated in third place, leaving us with Harold Angle with a huge chip advantage over Michael Minetti for heads-up play and the bracelet.
