Jason Fitzpatrick opened to 65,000 from the hijack and Gary Luther called from the small blind. The flop was 109
5 and Luther checked. Fitzpatrick bet 65,000 and Luther raised to 200,000. Fitzpatrick re-raised to 400,000 and Luther snap-moved all-in. Fitzpatrick called just as quickly but was in for a unhappy surprise when the hands were tabled. Fitzpatrick had flopped a set of nines (99) but Luther had flopped a set of tens (1010). The board completed K4 and Fitzpatrick was left with a mere 760,000. Luther is now up to about 5.1 million.

Fitzpatrick was in bad shape with his K9 against Hesselberg’s 1010. The board ran out AJJA3 and while Fitzpatrick didn’t find a king on the board, Hesselberg’s pair was counterfeited and Fitzpatrick scooped the pot to send Hesselberg to the rail in 20th place.
Fitzpatrick chipped up to 920,000 with that pot.

Zazay Doubles Through Fitzpatrick

After a series of raises before the flop, we found Omar Zazay all in and at risk against Jason Fitzpatrick for his last 272,000.
Fitzpatrick showed K10 and was in need of improvement against Zazay’s 1010.
The flop came down 6J2, keeping Zazay’s tens in the lead. Fitzpatrick picked up more outs with the Q on the turn, giving him and open-ended straight draw. Zazay ultimately faded those outs, though, as the 4 completed the board on the river.
Zazay scored the massive double and now has about 560,000 in chips. Fitzpatrick, on the other hand, has now dropped to roughly 418,000.

Fitzpatrick Extends Lead

The completed board read KQ624 when we found Mo Arani and Jason Fitzpatrick engaged in the hand. With over 125,000 already in the middle, Fitzpatrick fired a bet of 67,500. Arani went into the tank for well over a minute before sliding out a call.
“Set,” said Fitzpatrick, rolling over 22 for a set of deuces.
Arani mucked his hand and Fitzpatrick pulled in another sizable pot. He now sits on about 820,000 in chips.

Samples Falls From Chip Lead

We arrived at the table to see a massive pot brewing between Jason Fitzpatrick and Lynn Samples. The board read 3694 and Fitzpatrick cut out a bet of 97,000 on the turn. Samples instantly announced a call and the chips were pulled into the middle of the table.
TheJ rolled off on the river and Fitzpatrick announced that he was all in.
“Count it for me,” said Samples to the dealer who began to break Fitzpatrick’s stack down.
After a brief moment, Samples announced a call only to see Fitzpatrick table 33 for a flopped set of treys.
“Ugh,” lamented Samples. “That was the only hand I was worried about.”
Fitzpatrick raked in the pot and now sits on a stack of about 580,000. Samples, the one time massive chip lead has dropped to roughly 350,000.
