Ramey Shaio entered Level 26 on the short stack with just 21 big blinds and was eliminated shortly after it began after getting it all in before the flop with a mall pocket pair against Mark Radoja’s over cards.
Mark Radoja min-raised the button to 80,000, Ramey Shaio moved all in from the small blind and Radoja called.
Shaio was ahead before the flop with 33 against Radoja’s A10.
The board came 109274, giving Radoja top pair on the flop and a flush on the river to win the pot and eliminate Ramey Shaio in 3rd place ($182,521). Mark Radoja ended the hand with about 3.5 million, just 100,000 or so shy of Matt Matros who entered heads-up play with a slight chip lead.

Gordon Vayo came into the level on the short stack with just 16 big blinds and was the next player eliminated. Ramey Shaio opened the pot for 65,000 from under the gun, Mark Radoja reraised to 125,000, Gordon Vayo moved all in for about 500,000, Shaio folded and Radoja called.
Gordon Vayo was all in for his tournament life and looking to chop with AK against Radoja’s AK.
The board came J10263, giving Radoja a four-card flush to win the pot. Radoja flopped four spades for a free roll and made the flush on the river. Gordon Vayo was eliminated in 4th place ($121,262) after taking what is arguably the toughest beat in no-limit hold’em. Mark Radoja moved up to second in chips after the hand with about 2.4 million.
Ramey Shaio Doubles Through Matt Matros
Ramey Shaio was put on the short stack after Mark Radoja eliminated Gordon Vayo in 4th place ($121,262) but found a double up through the current chip leader to stay alive as the level started winding down.
Matt Matros opened the button for 65,000, Raney Shaio moved all in for just over 500,000 from the small blind and Matros called.
Matros was ahead before the flop with A9 against Shaio’s QJ.
The board came A1057K, giving Matros top pair on the flop but Shaio caught a gustshot on the river to make straight and win the pot. Shaio doubled up to just over 1 million that hand while Matros slipped down to about 3.9 million.

Action Begins, Official Final Table Now Underway

The final table of Event no. 16 ($1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed) is now underway, and Card Player will be posting level-by-level updates with all of the action, current chip counts, and prize distributions.
Day 3 began with 9 players spread out over two tables, and with the elimination of Matt Glantz in 7th Place ($40,059), the official 6-handed final table is now set. Play will begin in Level 23 with blinds of 10,000-20,000 with a 3,000 ante, and will continue until a winner is determined.
