Big Hands:
Matt Affleck Climbing
Matt Affleck bet 275,000 from under the gun. Action was folded to Michael Mizrachi in the big blind. He made the call. The flop came 722 and action went check-check. The 7 fell on the turn and Mizrachi bet 330,000. Affleck raised to 930,000. Mizrachi went into the tank before reraising to 1,630,000. Affleck tanked as well for a couple minutes. He eventually called. The J landed on the river and Mizrachi bet 920,000. Affleck made the call with the 87 and Mizrachi mucked. Mizrachi was down to 5,960,000 while Affleck was up to 12,850,000 after the hand.
Johnny Lodden Moves All In, Chops
Michiel Sijpkens bet 315,000. Jonathan Duhamel raised to 765,000 on the button. Johnny Lodden shoved from the big blind. Sijpkens folded but Duhamel called. Lodden tabled the AJ and was in horrible shape to stay alive versus the AK of his opponent. However, the board ran out Q66Q10 and Lodden remained in the tournament via a chop. He was at 1,600,000 after the hand and still the short stack.
Gianni Direnzo Eliminated
Robert Pisano opened to 280,000. Gianni Direnzo called from the small blind. The flop came Q63 and Pisano bet 410,000. Direnzo moved all in for 2,350,000 and Pisano called. Pisano tabled the AQ and was way ahead of the 86 of Direnzo. The Q on the turn had Direnzo drawing dead. The meaningless 4 on the river ended Direnzo’s tournament in 29th place.
Bryn Kenney Eliminated, Final 27 Set
Bryn Kenney bet 300,000 from under the gun. Pascal LeFrancois called from the big blind. The flop came Q85 and LeFrancois checked. Kenney bet 400,000. LeFrancois made the call. The K landed on the turn and LeFrancois checked again. Kenney bet 480,000 and LeFrancois called. The river brought the J and Kenney announced a bet of 1,300,000 verbally. However, LeFrancois thought he had moved all in. LeFrancois, as a result, instantly called with the 88 for a set. Kenney was actually left with just under 1,000,0000. Kenney showed the KJ for top two pair and fortunately was still in the event.
However, the next hand LeFrancois got the rest of the chips. He opened to 300,000 and Kenney shoved for 850,000. LeFrancois snap-called and exposed the AA. Kenney tabled the 22 and needed help. No assistance came as the board ran out A6498. Kenney was eliminated in 28th place as day 7 came to and end.
