David Arsht entered the level as the chipleader with 925,000 but quickly extend his lead over the field after winning a 650,000 showdown against Stephen Hung with A

4 flop. Arsht moved up to about 1,2000,000 that hand while knocking Hung down to just about 500,000 (12 bbs). Arsht then went on to win another 600,000 showdown with J
10 after flopping a ten and turning a jack to crack Donald Auger’s KK with two pair. Arsht continued to widen the gap that hand where the ended with about 1.9 million, leaving Auger on the short stack with just 6 big blinds.
Arsht made quick work of his last three opponents as he began to dominate the field as the level came to an end. He first busted both Al Barbieri and Donald Auger on the same hand when his pocket sevens held up to best Auger’s pocket sixes and Barbieri’s J-10.

David Arsht opened the pot for 80,000, Donald Auger moved all in, Al Barbieri called, Arsht reraised enough to put Barbieri all in and Barbieri called. Both Barbieri and Auger were all in for their tournament life and behind Arsht’s pocket pair with two overs and an under pair.

Auger flopped top set to take the lead, but Arsht went runner-runner to make a straight on the river and eliminate both players in the very same hand. Donald Auger was eliminated in 4th place ($61,820) and Al Barbieri was eliminated in 3rd place ($84,388) while David Arsht took a commanding lead going into heads-up play with roughly 2,750,000 to Stephen Hung’s 550,000

Stephen Hung entered heads-up play severely out chipped by by 5:1 and with only 13 big blinds. On the final hand of the night, David Arsht opened the pot for 80,000 from the button and Stephen Hung called from the big blind.
The flop came QJ6, Hung checked, Arsht bet 40,000 and Hung called.
The turn was the Q, Hung moved all in after a series of raises and Arsht called.
Hung was all in for his tournament life and behind on the turn with Q3 for trip queens against Arsht’s Q10 for trip queens with a higher kicker. The river was the 4 and Arsht’s kicker played to win the pot and eliminate Stephen Hung in 2nd place ($130,903). David Arsht wins Event no.13, taking home the $211,921 grand prize and the thirtieth gold bracelet of the 2012 WSOP.

Glenn Engelbert started the level as the short stack with just over 8 big blinds and was eliminated shortly after. Engelbert lost most his chip in a showdown to chipleader David Arsht who rivered a king to leave Engelbert with only 6,000 after he opted to just call the 50,000 river bet rather than move all in for 56,000. While Engelbert was left with less than one-fifth of a single big blind, Arsht padded his chip lead with about 1.6 million after the hand.
Engelbert managed to find a quick triple up a few hands later but Al Barbieri finally got him after Engelbert shoved his last few chips in the middle before the flop and ran into Barbieri’s pocket tens. The board bricked nine-high with a pair of fives and Barbieri’s tens held up. Glenn Engelbert was eliminated in 5th place ($45,953).

Barbieri was ahead on the turn with A7 for a made straight against Queen’s top set with 99. The river was the J and Alexander Queen was eliminated in 8th place ($20,370). That hand gave Barbieri the current chip lead with about 850,000.
Jeff Weiss Eliminated in 7th Place ($26,401)
David Arsht opened the pot for 40,000 from middle position, Jeff Weiss called from the small blind and Al Barbieri called the big blind.
The flop came Q92, Wiess and Barbieri checked to Arsht who bet 20,000. Weiss called all in for 7,000 and Barbieri folded.
Arsht was ahead on the flop with A9 for middle pair against Weiss’ A10.
The turn and river were the J and the J, offering no help to Jeff Weiss who was eliminated in 7th place ($26,401). David Arsht took the chip lead that hand with just under 1 million as the remaining six players headed to dinner.

The final table of Event no. 13 ($1,500 Limit Hold’em) is now underway, and Card Player will be posting level-by-level updates with all of the action, current chip counts, and prize distributions.
With the elimination of Roland Israelahvili in 10th Place ($12,535), the official, 9-handed final table is now set. Play will begin in Level 23 with blinds of 8,000-15,000 and limits of 15,000-30,000, and will continue until a winner is determined.
