Josh VanDuyn raised to 800 before Patrick Rhamey went all in for his last 3,875. VanDuyn did some calculations while hemming and hawing before tossing in a call.
“I’m praying for a race,” said VanDuyn as he tabled 33.
He was racing with his pocket pair against Rhamey’s AK. The flop took the race and skewed it in Rhamey’s favor as the dealer peeled off a flop of AQ2. The turn was the J and the river is the 7 to double up Rhamey and put a small dent in VanDuyn’s stack.
“We are going to race like three more times today,” said Rhamey as he stacked his chips.
Candace Collins bet 1,000 on the turn with the board reading K528 and got called by Josh VanDuyn. The river is the 7 and Collins fires 1,600 and VanDuyn quickly calls.
“Ace-high,” said Collins as she was hesitant to table her hand.
VanDuyn quickly tables 22, good for bottom set and takes the pot.
Collins slips to 10,225 in chips, while Collins climbs to 17,250.
